Fatima Abbas Hassan Biography
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has named Fatima Abbas Hassan as the new Head of, Corporate Affairs Department. Prior to her elevation, she was a Manager of News and Current Affairs, at NTA Channel 5, Abuja.
Fatima has served as a Special Assistant to the President on Media (2011-2015) and was posted to the Office of the Vice President’s Wife to project her public image and publicize her programs and activities of that office, before her secondment to the Presidency. Fatima has served in NTA in different capacities for over two decades with various responsibilities.

Fatima hails from Katsina and was born to the family of Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf and Hajiya Rakiya Muhammad in 1966, in the ancient city of Kano. Fatima is the fourth child in a family of 17 and married to Alhaji Abbas Hassan, Managing Director of Abuja Broadcasting Corporation. She graduated with B.A (English language) in 1988 from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

After her first degree, she did the mandatory one year National Youth Service (NYSC) at the Bauchi State Publishing and Printing Company, publishers of the Trumpeter and Kakaki newspapers. She served there as a sub-editor and columnist. At the end of her service year in 1989, she secured employment with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Bauchi.
